What You’ll Need:
- Soft measuring tape (preferably in inches)
- A mirror (or someone to assist)
- A pen and paper (or notes app) to record measurements
- Hair should be flattened (braided, wrapped, or under a wig cap) if present
Key Wig Measurements:
1.
Circumference
- Measure around your entire head.
- Start at the front hairline, go behind the ears, around the nape of the neck, and back up.
- 👉 Most important measurement for cap size.
Example: 21.5” – 23.5”
2.
Front to Nape
- Measure from your front hairline (center of the forehead) straight back over the crown to the lowest point of the nape.
✔ Example: 13” – 15”
3.
Ear to Ear (Over Top)
- Start at the top of one ear, go over the crown, and end at the top of the opposite ear.
✔ Example: 11.5” – 13.5”
4.
Temple to Temple (Across Front Hairline)
- Place the tape at one temple, follow the hairline across the forehead, and end at the other temple.
✔ Example: 11” – 13”
5.
Ear to Ear (Across Nape)
- Measure from one ear, go around the back of the head just above the nape, to the other ear.
✔ Example: 5” – 6.5”
6.
Nape of Neck
- Measure the width of your neck at the base of your hairline.
✔️ Example: 4” – 6”
